David Cameron's son is praised for cool head over bike crash

David Cameron’s eleven year old son has been praised for his cool head when he witnessed a bike crash outside his school.

Elwen and three friends saw an incident involving a cyclist outside St Mary Abbots Primary in Kensington on March 10.

The former PM’s son called 999 and explained the injuries, staying with the hurt woman until adult help arrived.

According to the Times, three members of the public later visited his school — St Mary Abbots Primary — to say how impressed they were by the actions of the four boys.

Nicola Doyle, the school’s head teacher, said: “The boys demonstrated quick thinking and calmness under pressure in a challenging situation.

“Though emergency services are not able to [discuss the condition of] the individual patient, the pupils are to be commended for their maturity and doing the right thing to help. We join the pupils in wishing the person a speedy recovery.”

Mr Cameron was frequently seen on two wheels before he governed the United Kingdom, and his love of cycling was immortalised in 2014.

Nathan Steinberg bought the statuette at a gala dinner at which the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne was the star guest.

The sculptor Margarita Hernandez gave the ornament, around ten inches tall, to the party several years ago.

Mr Cameron used the fact he cycled around London to reinforce his green credentials when he first became party leader but was subsequently revealed to have a car following him round with his briefcase. He since gave up cycling.
