PRO have released a three saddle range for 2013 comprising the Falcon, Turnix and Griffon.
Developing these new 'high-performance' saddles involved taking measurements from over a million riders and distilling that down into three new saddle models which, it reckons, will be the perfect saddle.
Each saddle has been developed to match a particular riding style. The Flyer is a rider with a naturally more stable position and is catered for with the Falcon. The Worker is a rider that tends to shift around more and needs a curved saddle like the Griffon to help maintain an efficient riding position.
And for riders sitting (ahem!) between the two extremes the Turnix, with its nearly flat shape with gentle curve at the end, should be the perfect fit. The Turnix, it should be pointed out, isn't actually a new saddle.
It doesn't sound a million miles away from what Fizik have been doing with their top end peformance saddle range for the last few years with their Spineflex animals designed to reflect the cyclist you are; snake, chameleon, or bull - based on your level of spinal flexibility - to help you choose from the Arione, Aliante or Antares. Last year Fizik took things further by introducing versions of all three saddles with tuneable flex - in their Kurve range, but I digress…
Each of the Pro saddle shares the same carbon reinforced base construction, high density EVA padding, shock absorbing technology and choice of carbon or titanium rails. Weight for a carbon rail saddle is a claimed 155g.

Furthermore, each saddle is available in a choice of 132mm or 142mm widths . If you're not sure how wide your sit bones are, a PRO dealer will be able to measure you up and make sure you get the right fit.

If all this choice sounds a little bewildering and you're not sure which you're best suited to, the new saddle selector website makes it very simple. Five steps involve choosing your riding style, assessing your flexibility, your sit bone measurement, the rails and colour you want for your new saddle.
