British Cycling has announced a strong squad for the second round of the 2013/14 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics, which takes place in Aguascalientes, Mexico from 5 to 7 December – including seven riders who won Olympic gold in London last year.
Great Britain topped the medal table at the end of the opening round in Manchester earlier this month, taking eight in total, four of them gold, and lead the points standings.
One standout performer at Manchester – Katie Archibald, who took two medals riding for Scotland’s Braveheart team – steps up to the Great Britain side for Mexico.
She took silver in the scratch race and bronze in the individual pursuit, and joins four other women in the endurance squad – Elinor Barker, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott, who set a new world record in the team pursuit in London.
That meet also saw Rowsell win the individual pursuit and Trott the Omnium, while the men’s team pursuit squad – like their female counterparts, the reigning Olympic champions – also took World Cup gold.
British Cycling performance manager Shane Sutton commented: “The World Cup in Manchester has given us a steady start to the season – we got some good results there and it also highlighted some aspects the team needs to work on.
“We’re keen to build on that in the next round and earn as many qualifying points for the World Championships as we can so we’re sending a strong squad over to Mexico for the next round.”

And I liked endura too. Got a nice long sleeve mostly merino long sleeve a little while back, in orange.
No, the Ebay lights have been around for several years, this Lezyne light just appeared.
They shouldn't worry - the second part of the "tariff" refrain is "they can make it in US and they'll do very well".
"At the going down of the sun, it will get in our eyes and cause us to crash into things."
Indeed - but again these are perhaps questions we should keep asking. Even if the immediate answer is "well we are where we are" or "how on earth...
