The London Bike Show returns once again to London’s ExCel Centre on 23-25 February for another huge gathering of the hottest brands from the world of cycling and is a great chance to see many of the latest cutting-edge bikes. To give you a taste of what you can expect to see, and by way of whetting your appetite, here are six hot bikes you'll not want to miss
1. Cervelo P5x
This is the most futuristic bike on sale right now. If Batman got into cycling, this is the bike he would ride! It’s a state-of-the-art aerodynamic time trial and triathlon bike equipped with disc brakes and is the result of over 180 hours of wind tunnel testing, and has a price to match its jaw-dropping looks, £13,499. You can find out more about it here.
2. Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc
One of the newest bikes on display at the London Bike Show, and one we’ve not even ridden yet, it’s that new, is Giant’s new Propel Advanced SL Disc. It was launched at the Tour de France and joins a small, but growing, list of disc-equipped aerodynamic race bikes. Key to the bikes aero performance is a completely integrated stem and handlebar that routes all the cables and hoses inside for smoother lines and lower drag. You can read more about it here, and see it at the show.
3. Colnago Concept
Italian company Colnago launched its most aerodynamic road bike to date last year, the Concept, and you’ll be able to see it at the London Bike Show in all its glory. It’s a bike that offers superb performance and fine handling, as you’ll know if you’ve read our review of it here.
4. Look 785 Huez RS
French company Look launched this super light race bike at last year’s Tour de France, so it’s likely you might not have seen it in the flesh yet. What you can expect if you head to the show to see it is a 730g frame with a 280g frame, making it one of the lightest bikes money can buy. You can read all about it in our first look article.
5. Scott Addict RC Pro
Scott’s Addict continues to be one of the lightest bikes in the world, and it’s the bike ridden by young stars Adam and Simon Yates. The RC Pro is the team issue version and weighs just 6.3kg thanks to a full Dura-Ace Di2 groupset and lots of high-end components.
6. Orro Venturi Aero Bike
We exclusively told you about the brand the Venturi Aero Bike from British brand Orro just a couple of weeks ago, and it’ll be on public display for the very first time at the London Bike Show. So hurry along if you want to see it in the carbon, as it were. It’s a disc-specific bike designed around 28mm tyres, much like the 3T Strada, but with a conventional drivetrain. Read the full story about it here.
Like the look of those bikes? Then be sure to head on over to the ExCel Centre next week, but make sure you use our offer of a 10% discount off adult tickets when you book at www.thelondonbikeshow.co.uk. Simply use the code RCC10 when you purchase your tickets. You’ve got until midnight of 22nd February, so don’t delay.
