David Millar’s Chpt3 brand now has new stock of its popular Monzamilano range, originally launched last year to celebrate the Giro d’Italia’s 29km (18 mile) individual time trial from the famous Monza motor racing circuit to the centre of Milan.
"We created it using the 2017 final stage time trial as the inspiration because the only stage I won at the Giro (team time trial not included) was the final stage time trial in 2011," said David Millar.
"It just so happened that last year's Stage 21 was also a time trial and started in the Autodromo Nazionale Monza which is cool and actually gave some decent inspiration, especially with my motor-racing history geek head on, so the pattern is based on the starting grid the riders rolled out from."
The collection is made by Castelli, the Monzamilano jersey 1.24 (£120) coming in a classic cut and featuring a full-length metal zip and a zipped pocket – as well as the three normal pockets – around the back. The graphics are confined to the collar, right sleeve and pockets.
The graphics of the microfibre polyester Monzamilano base layer 1.81 (£60) are bolder, and the same goes for those of the cotton Monzamilano Cycling cap 1.53 (£30).
Socks (£20) and a musette (£15) complete the range.

The Monzamilano products are designed to complement Chpt3’s Defiant Shorts 1.61 (£120), which come with a patterned bib section and Castelli’s excellent Progetto X2 Air two-layer/multi-density seatpad.
