Five cool things coming soon from Van Rysel, Gore, Goodyear, Chrome Industries and Exposure

Some of the best bikes, gear and clothing we're trying out at the moment, with full reviews coming soon...

Will this rain ever stop?? We hope you're finding some way to keep riding through it, and we're fortunate not to have seen the worst of the flooding down here in the south west. Here's what we've been trying out/getting wet this week...

Gore C3 Gore-Tex Infinium Stretch Mid Gloves

£49.99

Gore C3 Gore-Tex Infinium Stretch Mid Gloves - back.jpg

These technically advanced gloves have a '3D pre-shaped construction', which Gore say will help them to stretch and move with you on hard rides. The outer fabric is windproof and water-resistant, with a light brushed interior to add warmth and will ensures you won't have to take them off while outdoors. Gore also recommend them running, hiking and XC skiing, which gives you more bang for your buck if you partake in any of these endeavours. It's a fair bit of cash to shell out for a pair of gloves, but is it fifty quid well spent? Stu Kerton's verdict is coming shortly.

Van Rysel Cold Weather Extreme Racer Jacket

£79.99

Van Rysel Cold Weather Extreme Racer Jacket - balaclava.jpg

It might look like our model is about to rob your house, but we can assure you he's just trying to keep warm during a particularly cold ride! As well as the bonus balaclava, this thermal jacket has three layers to protect you from the elements, with adjustable vents to let sweat escape if you do get a little warm. The hood is also removable if you'd rather do without it, and Decathlon say the jacket is windproof front and back. Is it worth scaring your friends and fellow road users to keep the cold out on your next ride? Find out in the full review coming soon.

Goodyear Transit Speed S3 Shell Urban tyre

£29.99

Goodyear Transit Speed S3 Shell Urban tyre

Goodyear promise their urban tyre is fast rolling and "at home flowing through urban centres and bike paths". It even claims to offer some extra visibility with side reflective strips, and plenty of flat protection. You can get the tyre in three different constructions: the S3 with a Shell-Wire Bead and 3mm under tread, the S:5 Secure-Wire Bead and 5mm under tread plus F:Wall protective sidewall, or in tubless styley. Find out how John Stevenson got on with his S3 versions later this month.

Chrome Industries Vigil Pack

£160.00

Chrome Mazer Vigil Pack.jpg

Described as "a water-resistant urban expedition pack ready for anything" the Vigil Pack has a 15" Macbook Pro section and an attachment loop for extra gear. An EVA back panel provides form-fitting and helps to prevent back sweat, and the ergonomic straps are plenty adjustable to suit all shapes and sizes. Ideal for cycling adventures? George Hill is your tester...

Exposure Link Plus Daybright

£85.00

Exposure Link Plus light.jpg

This compact little light mounts to your helmet, and recommended by Exposure for city riding. It has a front and a rear light in one, pumping out 150 lumens and 45 lumens respectively, with a 'Day Bright' pulse pattern that Exposure say is visible from over a kilometre away, even in bright sunlight. The 'Fuel Gauge' also lets you work out how much burn time you have left, and it's USB rechargeable as standard. Will this two-in-one allow you to do away with individual front and rear lights for urban riding? Liam Cahill's verdict is coming soon...

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.

I've asked this before, so sorry to keep banging on about this, but will you ever provide a full review of the Orro Venturi? I've been so intrigued by that bike since the initial article you did, but I'm yet to see a proper review of it anywhere. I'd love to know if it's as good as it looks.

We've only had the chance for a First Ride so far. We visited Orro, rode the Venturi for a couple of hours from their place, and had to give it back. That's enough for initial impressions but not a full-blown bike review.

We are promised the bike soon for a full review. We'll keep you posted.
