Oh really, with no markings on the pavement, you have no right of way over anyone, and should be looking out for any obstacles in your path, and should be able to stop, so that you do not fall off, or crash into someone.

If anything the man coming across the road had right of way, Or was he supposed to stop in the road to wait for his Cameraness to pass?

I was in london last week, and had the 'pleasure' of riding along 'CS3' for a bit... it was awful, it was like playing Russian roulette.

Who had right of way, would that actually matter? Why is that guy cycling to me on my side of the road?... oh actually, no, I'm supposed to be on the right here.... etc. etc.

For the journey back towards Paddington I went via the roads... far less stressful.

My point being... its probably more the infrastructure than any wild cannon cyclist.

Whilst it is important that the difficulties that cyclists face are highlighted, the constant exposition of these incidents is becoming grating, particularly when they are if such a trivial nature as this one.
Further, in that the bulk of the people reading these articles are already aware of the problems, they are potentially counter-productive, fuelling the confrontational 'them and us' attitude that we are so keen to decry in motorised road users and which is used as evidence of arrogance when displayed by cyclists.

Road CC is unfortunately becoming the Daily Mail of the cycling press.

Neither had right of way - end of.
Proceed with caution and give way to other users in both cases.

At best - shouldnt be cycling across a pedestrian crossing, get off and walk (I cant tell if it allows this..pelican/cycle).

So you're not sure who's wrong or right but you'll still plaster some poor bloke's face all over the internet after a minor collision with another guy who has a paddy after doing a really bad endo.

Bad infrastructure at fault. Neither rider appears to be doing anything 'wrong' from that video. Certainly no 'dangerous cycling' going on. Not a police matter, but one for the council - design your environment to prevent this sort of thing happening.

Note to self, if someone runs into you at a slow speed and you topple off your bike, the correct response would be a manly laugh, get back on your bike and go. Not an epic scream and starting an argument haha

You would hope the other guy would be more 'hey are you ok ?' maybe even a 'sorry' than 'its not my fault'.

None of this really seems newsworthy, let alone worthy of police report, grow up guys !

I disagree a little with those who think these videos shouldn't be highlighted, I think its important that it's demonstrated what cyclists are up against. Be that poor infrastructure or endemiccally poor and dangerous attituted to cyclists.

Hoist by own petard. Clearly no right of way, should've anticipated people coming off the crossing - cyclist or pedestrian.

Oh yeah, and +1 for this is a non-story. Curiosity got the better of me this time as it was "blue on blue" but I'm increasingly just ignoring road.cc "traffic incident" video stories as they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of late.

There is no clear right of way but my sympathies are with the cyclist on the crossing. From the video I would say that his speed was not excessive nor was he riding without due care.

Cyclist on pavement has failed to anticipate and/or react to the potential hazards he is facing. I can see no clear indication that this is a shared pavement or that cyclists are allowed to use it at all. In fact the only users with a clear and unambiguous right of way on a footpath are pedestrians.

One final point. To the right a park can be clearly seen. Instead of a cyclist coming over the crossing it could have been a young child sprinting in front of its parents to get to the park to play.

In summary.
Crossing cyclist - Not at fault. But needs to be visited by the Fashion Police.
Pavement Rider - Grow a pair, learn to accept responsibility for your actions, get off the pavement [you're not a toddler on a trike or with stabilisers] and stop riding like a twat.

Other than that; a complete non-story.

Road cc - please leave this non-news on youtube where it belongs and get back to being the best online cycling resource. Very real danger of cancelling my updates from you guys if you don't...

Both cyclists at fault. Not an uncommon incident, laughable that the hitee wants Police to see this.

I saw two people having a stressful argument yesterday, road,cc, but I forgot to video it for you, sorry.

To be honest, the south side of Shepherds Bush Green is a complete nightmare. I've parked my front wheel into the backside of someone who stepped out in front of me, acted as a human shield for 2 small children whose father had run to the central reservation as the lights had turned green and narrowly avoided a cyclist turning right onto the same bike path crashing into me as I was overtaking at the same spot in the video (he turned without looking and without hand signals).

IMHO, the cycle lane crossing is badly laid out and will result in a few more bike-on-bike incidents.

It was an accident.
Sometimes they happen.
Sometimes events out of our control conspire to cause them.
No one was seriously hurt - no one was obviously to blame.
Pick yourself up and get on with life FFS instead of trying to get this other fella into trouble with the police (although he should be locked up for those yellow glasses alone)

ps - that also goes for the fella who tracked down a nasty taxi driver who beeped him.
Taxi drivers are twats - that is just the way it is. Deal with it and dont waste your life dignifying their twatish behaviour

Having just watched this video and another of a cyclist confronting a taxi driver in Cornwall I've opted out of receiving updates from road.cc. The rights and wrongs in both these videos and many of the others posted can surely not be determined from the videos themselves and the flurry of posts they encourage don't seem to me to be very useful or productive. I don't see that anything positive is achieved by posting most of the items.

Whats the other guy gonna do? Stay on the road? Just because its a cycle lane doesnt mean you are relieved of your care duty. You see there are lights coming up and someone might come from that side, slow down.

I had put the camera guy in the wrong. The esteemed Mr Lowe has only confirmed my thoughts. Also had a quick look at some of Man About's You Tube feeds and he doesn't actually demonstrate brilliant road craft IMHO.

Act fast - probably about 5 days left and contact Metroline for CCTV from the bus SN1921 (YR61 RPX) based at Hayes (HZ) Garage and advise that at around 16.34 on route 207 passing Shepherds Bus Green, their bus CCTV will have filmed a cycle-cycle crash which should provide a clearer and more detailed view.

The cyclist crossing ON THE CYCLE ROUTE from Rockley Road on to Shepherd's Bush Green (it can be seen continuing west set to the North of the line of trees) has clearly been alert, as he has managed to pull up quickly and avoid being completely in front of the guy with the camera. The traffic signals for the crossing (the camera shows the signal head for the Southbound cycle route (with no left turn ... rather stating the obvious when the road will usually have a line of motor vehicles waiting at the lights) the cycle symbol is green (16.38.44), and so the Northbound rider has a green signal. Cycle signal changes to red and bus moves off on green.

The guy with the camera, as far as I can see is riding on a footway - not as you suggest, an off road shared use path and not shown as such on cycle route maps (the cycle route is shown coming across at the traffic signals and turning West). Thus the footway is not designated for shared use, it has no signs showing this, and the camera user seems to be committing an offence under s.72 Highways Act 1835, and riding at a dangerously inappropriate speed. He's lucky not to have injured the other rider, or done excessive damage (although if he has there may well be a civil claim coming his way).

Could even be a bit tricky - "Dear Police here is a video of me breaking the law and crashing into another road user, legitimately using a cycle route with a green traffic signal giving him right of way"

Half dozen of one , 6 of another surely... 'A simple are you alright' and away they go... not sure what the story is here apart from some very badly planned cycle lanes ..

Even so, you would give way to the cyclist travelling along the pavement not just ride into the side of them.
If your vision was hampered by the bus, you'd slow down until you could see it was safe to go ahead.
Give way to the right not the left is the general rule?

I'm glad he hit a cyclist coming from behind the bus, it could easily have been a child.
