The DealCatcher's been busy exploring strange new avenues today. He's discovered that Hargroves have got 10% off their entire eBike range, so he's whetted his whistle over at our sister publication eBikeTips, and jumped into those electric bargains head first.

We've picked out three models for you to take a look at: a Scott women-specific eBike, a Cube for those of you with slightly lower budgets, and a Specialized if you fancy splashing out.

Elsewhere the DealCatcher's got some great summery deals in the way of a pair of Pearl Izumi bib shorts and a women's Louis Garneau jersey.

10% off all eBikes with code - ELECTRIC10

Womens - Scott E-Sub Tour Lady - 2016 Hybrid
WAS £2198.00 | NOW £1978.20

Whether you live in a particularly hilly part of town, your knees aren't what they used to be, or you fancy being able to ride longer distances in your Sunday best, eBikes are a fantastic option that are not only growing in popularity, but practicality too.

This here is the Scott E-Sub Tour. It's powered by a Bosch 400wh battery, has a really relaxed town bike-esque geometry, and a Suntour NEX HLO fork that'll see you over those bumpy inner city pothole-ridden roads, but has the option to lockout if you want to save the power on your battery.

Commuter - Cube Cross Hybrid Pro 4000
WAS £1499.00 | NOW £1349.10

eBikes aren't all about relaxed geometry and making your short trips around town easier.

If the Cube Cross is looking a lot less like a road bike and more like a mountain bike to you, that's because it takes a fair chunk of its heritage from its mountain bike side of the family. It's a commuter-driven design though, it's not got the robust build of its trial-specific siblings.

The double butted aluminium Superlite frame makes the whole package managable in the weight department, and the 400Wh Bosch Active Drive battery'll see you up and over even the most testing climb.

Shimano's 9-speed RD-M370 rear derraileur will keep things ticking over, while Shimano BR-M355 hydraullic disc brakes'll make sure you come to a neat stop in plenty of time.

The Suntour XCM fork also features a lockout will keep things comfortable.

Commuter - Specialized Turbo FLR
WAS £2500.00 | NOW £2250.00

Finally, the most expensive of the three, Specialized's Turbo FLR is a very capable eBike that offers consistent 25mph cruising speeds, integrated head light, LED power indicators, and 396Wh of capacity.

The bike even features regenerative braking options to help recharge the battery slightly when you break - think KERS in formula one. It's the same concept.

Running Shimano's Deore 10-speed groupset and disc brakes, you'll have some pretty assured gear changes and stopping power to match your fancy acceleration.

Wheelies

40% off Pearl Izumi Quest Bib Cycling Shorts
WAS £49.99 | NOW £29.98

Pearl-Izumi-Quest-Bib-Cycling-Shorts.jpg

Now, away from the strange world of eBikes and back to things we know well.

Bib shorts. You can never have too many bib shorts, and when the weather starts picking up it's as good of a time as any to reevaluate your options.

As the sun's on its way you'll want a pair of bib shorts that are both lightweight and well ventilated. Nothing smells quite as bad as an old sweaty chamois.

These Pearl Izumi bib shorts are excellently well ventilated thanks to the Direct-Vent panels located near your nether regiouns. The UPF 50 protection will also keep you safe from the sun's harmful rays.

Silicone leg grippers and a fantastic breathable 13mm Tour 3D chamois means these are perfect for summer riding, and outrageously cheap.

Evans Cycles

40% off Louis Garneau Women Beeze Vent Jersey 2
WAS £29.99 | NOW £17.99

Louis Garneau Breeze Vent 2 Jersey.PNG

Finally, Evans Cycles have a fantastic discount on Louis Garneau women's jerseys that are perfect for summer riding.

The Beeze Vent jersey, not 'Breeze' though you'll feel like there's a pleasant one if you're bopping along in one of these, is brilliantly well ventilated - as the name would suggest - thanks to the AirDry and Mesh fabric combination.

Featuring a racey and flattering ProFit Women cut, and a rounded collar, the jersey looks about as professional as it does comfortable.

Correction required for the Specialized Turbo - it has a limit of 25 kilometres per hour, or 15.5 miles per hour.

@Wookie - The battery has a capacity of 396kWh. The actual power output according to the Specialized web site is just 200W.

Does the Specialized come this a number plate?

Although I think the rest may be outside the law for road use based on power output.

EAPC requirements

The requirements are:

the bike must have pedals that can be used to propel it
the electric motor shouldn’t be able to propel the bike when it’s travelling more than 15.5mph
the motor shouldn’t have a maximum power output of more than 250 watts
