Should have been wearing a helmet too. Very useful when a flying van smacks you in the head
He was very lucky, but in future he should learn to ride more defensively and present good situational awareness.
I sometimes think too many drivers imagine this would be a likely outcome, should the risks they take not pay off.
If only more people could be bothered to step out of the way, casualty numbers on the road would drop like a stone.
More lucky he didn't use cleat (well, obvious, its granny bike), else, he is as good as dead . . .
how the hell does a van get up the kind of speed to roll like that in a built up area! mental. lucky guy on bike
Didn't believe in a deity until I saw this. Jesus f***
China has segregated cycle paths in the major cities surprisingly. Quite far ahead of the U.K. Illegal to ride with traffic, not that you'd want to. They definitely have worse drivers there!
Their maybe segregated cycle paths but ...

Having lived ang cycled in Shanghai for 3 years finding a car in the cycle path is not an uncommon sight.
Driving in the cycle lane.. AND honking at cyclists to get out of your way. Begging for a slap.
