Many of the road.cc team ride around the area of Bradford on Avon and we can all vouch for its lumpy terrain, especially the main climb up through town via Mason Lane, it’s nasty!

On the afternoon of Saturday 14th July though you get the whole road to yourself to see how quickly you can ascend from The Swan, around the bend and up to The Castle. Yep it’s a pub to pub course.

If you want to beat the current record set back in 2015 then you’ll need to crack 58 seconds!!

For the young un’s there is the Mini Hill Climb which takes in the first half of the climb, a 200m dash from The Swan to the first bend.

The family Cycle Trail returns after a few years of not running but now that it’s back we want it to stay.  We want to encourage families to get out for the day on their bikes and enjoy what is on their doorsteps.  This popular event offers a rewarding and an enjoyable cycle of trails which many of you will be familiar with.

Setting off from Victory Fields, find all the clues to complete the trail while cycling the beautiful cycle paths.  Heading back to the event village to collect a prize for all the children!

The route is ideal for younger riders and families, taking in the wonderful surroundings that this county has to offer. Designed as an activity for the whole family, the ride is open to adults and children (participants must ride within their capabilities).

This is a fun ride that can be completed on all types of bicycles from electric assisted, recumbent, road bikes and mountain bikes one thing is for sure is that it is an enjoyable day out for all.

So dust off the bikes and get set for a few fun fuelled days of cycling. Challenge yourself on the Hill Climb up Market Street/Masons Lane or one of the Sportive routes. For the not so competitive then come and see what the cycling festival has to offer and why not take part in the family cycle ride.
