Team Leopard Trek reveal race kit

New ProTour squad go for subtle styling

New ProTour outfit Team Leopard Trek, home to Fabian Cancellara and the Schleck brothers, have passed up the opportunity to deck themselves out in full animal print and gone for a race strip that’s altogether classier.

The Craft-made kit is black and white with a blue band around the chest. Here in the road.cc office, we can’t decide whether it’s Cambridge blue or duck egg blue. Oli has gone leftfield by claiming it’s teal – but he’s wrong.

Team Leopard Trek have eschewed the traditional ‘mobile billboard’ approach too, and the sponsors’ logos are, shockingly, fairly subtle… from the front, at least. That said, you won’t be left in any doubt who the title sponsor and bike suppliers are when it comes to side-on shots. Each rider gets his name printed on the neck too.

It looks pretty cool to us. We’re giving it a thumbs up for style.

leopard trek, garmin-cervelo and sky all in very similar jerseys. I dont envy being Phil Liggett trying to pick 2nd place and down at all the major sprint finishes this year.

While I am a big fan of subtlety is this not just that little bit too subtle? And at a distance is not a million miles from Sky, especially if riders are shown from head on and they are in the drops. You'll mostly see the shoulders (black) and maybe some of the blue band. Ah well, let's see what 2012 brings.

Bianchi would have been a million times cooler than Trek.

ANYTHING is cooler than Trek. They may produce brilliant and effective bikes, but a cool bike? Not that I've ever seen! I ride Trek, and ALWAYS wish it were Bianchi! 105

All the grief that Sky got last year, and now Leopard come up with this Rapha clone.

Was interesting to see Frank in the equally understated Lux national champs shirt - will Andy have a primrose stripe as maillot jaune come July?

Nothing wrong with animal print, I love my red Vuelta leader's jersey* (which has more spots than the version sported during the race by Nibali etc). Although it was worrying to see a remarkably similar print on a blouse in the window of a local shop that caters for the fashion needs of ladies of a certain age 13

" Confession - no, I've never led the Vuelta on GC, apologies to traditionalists who don't think I should be wearing it 3

Looks like Celeste to me. Are they on the wrong bikes in that case?
