Bike Fest Back and Bigger than Ever

The grass really is greener at the London Green Fair and Bike Fest, and so's everything else...

If you're stuck for something to do on June 4th or 5th, you could do worse than pitch up at Regent's Park for the return of The London Green Fair and Bike Fest. Formerly The Camden Green Fair and Bike fest, this year sees the event in a new accessible central location, and it's bigger and, so we are told, better than ever.

As well as the Bike fest bit, there will be a permaculture zone, ethical fashion tent, a plethora of green and ethical lifestyle stands, and there's even live music on a pedal powered stage.

"The London Green Fair and Bike Fest is a great way to show products and to meet cyclists in the heart of London. The Bike Fest has been a success for Green Oil every year so far." says Simon Nash, Director of Green Oil UK, exhibitor at the Bike Fest for two years in a row.

In partnership with the Land Trust, 500 trees will be given away free to visitors, in an effort to help offset the carbon cost of the event itself. According to Festival Manager Sinclair Eiloart, given that the majority of visitors will either cycle or take public transport to attend, and the power for the show is entirely based on renewables, this promises to be the greenest bike show in the UK.

The event is open 12 noon to 7.30pm on 4th and 5th June in Regent's Park, and is free to the public.

Lara has been riding bikes for longer than she'd care to admit, and writing about them nearly as long. Since 2009 she has been working as part of the road.cc review team whilst championing women's cycling on the side, most notably via two years as editor of the, sadly now defunct, UK's first and only women's cycling mag, erm, Women's Cycling.

Believing fervently that cycling will save the world, she wishes that more people would just ride a bike and be pleasant to each other.

She will ride anything with two wheels, occasionally likes to go fast, definitely likes to go far and is always up for a bit of exploring somewhere new and exciting.
