Oakley release Mark Cavendish signature RadarLock glasses + video

Oakley are launching Mark Cavendish RadarLock signature glasses finished in a special colour to pay homage to the green sprinter's jersey that is Cav's season goal. They'll be released this coming Monday, 1 April... no joke.

Based on the regular RadarLock glasses (here's our review), they are finished in a colour that pays homage to the green jersey. It’s called Cavendish Green, and is actually black with flecks of green paint. “It [green] is a colour that really inspires me,” says Cavendish. “It’s a colour my whole season is built around, getting that green jersey.”

Cav’s signature is laser etched on the left hand side of the Jade Iridium lens. You get a spare set of lenses: G40 for medium light. Both of the lenses are the ones favoured by Mark. You also get a bag with his signature printed on one side, to keep them clean and protected. They’ll be limited editon and be packaged in a special box, so they might be very collectable. If you want to do your best Cav impression on the club run, you'll be needing a set of these.

There’s more... Oakley will be producing a cycling cap to wear with the signature glasses. Displaying a passion for cycling history, Mark describes the casquete as one of the most iconic piece of apparel in cycling. “This is a shout out to the guys who pioneered wearing them in the old days,” he says.
