Video: Omega Pharma’s Tour de France

Funny behind-the-scenes footage from the Belgian team

This is a really entertaining little video comprising out-takes from Omega Pharma-Quick-Step’s coverage of the Tour de France.

Like many teams, OPQS shoot a lot of footage, put it together and stick it up on their official website, their Facebook page, and so on. This video is made up of stuff that didn’t make it through the initial edits.

We all know that when sports teams try to be funny, they usually aren’t. Sorry, but let’s face facts. Witness Orica-GreenEdge’s recent AC/DC tribute, which seems to have mysteriously gone missing from YouTube. For comedy value, we much preferred their coach-based work on Corsica.

OPQS’s video is different in that it is actually funny… largely because it’s just people goofing around in front of the camera and stuff that they didn’t expect you to see. You can’t go wrong with people falling into water and spilling trays of drinks. It’s classic comedy. Anyway, see what you think…

Oh, by the way, the guy looking like Catweazle is Sports Director Brian Holm. And check out Cav’s headphones; they’re pretty cool.
