Powertap P1S single-sided power meter pedals

We were impressed by Powertap’s original power pedals last year, and now they’ve released a more affordable singe-sided version. The P1’s can easily be swapped between bikes with minimal faff or set-up required, and to give you a power reading it just takes the value of power from one leg and doubles the figure. Our reviewer John Stevenson will be checking for accuracy and ease of use amongst other considerations in his review soon…

Shimano have teamed up with Michelin to create the sole of these MTB shoes, which combines dual-density rubber and a strategic lug placement pattern for increased grip without compromising pedal efficiency. The midsole is lightweight carbon and the upper is synthetic leather with perforated venting, while a Boa dial holds your feet in securely.

This understated yet classy bag from Carradice is made from a cotton canvas, with tough leather straps and stainless steel buckles to increase its longevity. The lining is waterproof and it’s got internal pockets to keep your essentials safe. A zipped outer pocket pouch and diameters of 32cmW x 17cmD x 46cmH make this a roomy bag for commuting, but is it practical in all aspects? Our review is coming soon…

Chapeau! claim their Etape jersey is “like a second skin”, designed to wick away moisture and keep you cool in warm weather. It has three full-sized pockets and is available in black or bolue colours, The minimalistic design with just a small logo and contrast arm grippers will strike a chord with the modest and the stealthy alike. We’ll be judging the performance and totting up style points for our final verdict soon.

This comprehensive tool kit purportedly has everything you need for a fine-tuning of your bike, and comes in a handy sized box to keep on a bench or in the car. Included is 12 tools with 16 functions, including schrada and presta valve cores, a pedal wrench, spoke wrench and numerous hex keys amongst other things. Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
It's interesting that we don't for a moment think that slow marches would increase animosity towards pedestrians.
But weren't they "rowing back" on that pledge because they've had another look at the numbers and realised quite how badly the Tories have f-ed up...
