Five cool things coming soon from Spengle, Scicon, Abus, Specialized and Supacaz

Every now and then, we invite you to come and test stuff too at our BikeLive demo days - and BikeLive Cannock Chase was indeed buzzing on Saturday with attendees getting to try out some of the best bikes around! Scicon X-Over Bib shorts

Best known for their bike bags and more recently a new saddle, Scicon have branched out further with the launch of their first bib shorts. The Italians have called upon the bike fitting and testing experts at ASG Bike Science, part of their parent company, to design the shorts, before they're handmade in Scicon's own factory. There are separate men's and women's versions designed to support the different anatomies optimally, relieving sensitive areas and promoting blood flow, so say Scicon. They also say the shorts are suitable for on or off-road use, durable enough to use for super long road rides and dense enough in the padding to provide adequate support on sketchy, muddier trails. Spengle Carbon wheelset

Designed for 'serious fun' so say Spengle, their unconventional three-spoke carbon wheelset was born out of their mission to create "the most advanced bike wheel on the planet". Spengle say they have took inspiration from the automotive and aerospace industries to harness the latest in engineering technology. The three-spoke hoop is a carbon monocoque that they claim reduces vibration to keep you in control. The wheels have been used to great success on mountain bikes and in downhill events specifically, and they're also recommended for city bikes and gravel riding - our tester Stu Kerton will mostly be riding them with a gravel set-up. Abus Airbreaker helmet

As worn by the Movistar pro team, the Airbreaker promises top performance for every type of riding thanks to a superior balance of aerodynamics and ventilation. It has a honeycomb structure that Abus call their 'Multi Speed' design, and for ventilation you get 11 air inlets and three air outlets to keep you cool. Abus also say their AirPort allows you to stow your glasses with a strap guide in a way which won't hinder aerodynamics. Specialized Allez Sprint Comp

Described by Specialized as the most advanced alloy road bike they've ever made, the Allez Sprint Comp is built to fly in and out of corners and offer precise handling for fast and furious crits or speedy road racing and training. The price is also within reach for most of us unlike the flagship carbon race bikes in the Specialized stable, and with Shimano 105 shifting, DT R460 alloy wheels and a Body Geometry Toupé saddle the spec shouldn't leave you wanting for too much more either. Specialized also claim it's the stiffest alloy bike they've ever tested, thanks to their D'Aluisio Smartweld Technology that strategically places more welding material where it's needed to strengthen the frame. Supacaz Fly Cage Ano

"An absolute masterpiece" say Supacaz of their multicoloured bottle cage... and while that might be exaggerating a tiny bit, you can't say this cage doesn't stand out from the crowd. Made from 100% anodized aluminum, the clean lines and laser etched design add to the quality appearance, and the wings are lock tight to keep your bottle stowed securely even on the sketchiest of surfaces.
