Had a very loaded conversation with the wife about what size I am in various different brands...she instigated it, and then I over-complicated it!

Hope I didn't put her off!

The only thing I want for Christmas is some half-decent weather so I can get a few miles in.

Tools, accessories, and similar stuff - all things that can't be bought in a 'wrong' version or colour (like components or kit).

But yes. Exclusively. Though I'm afraid I'm bound to get some non-cycling related stuff too. I'm just going to have to try not to look too disappointed in that case.

Shoes, pedals, helmet, more shoes......

Pretty much all bike stuff for me then.

Threats of being stabbed in the head from SWMBO.....ahem...'curtailed my 'surprise' finds' in my cycling clothes drawer....unless it's bonus time and some extra cash is heading my way.....like this January when my 15 year service award is due....so maybe it's January sales treats instead of self bought Christmas treats...(I've yet to 'explain' my recent acquisition - a Galibier Colombiere jacket 13 )

No, it would be vetoed with the comment, "you already have far too much cycling stuff".

Or as the CFO here at Truffy Inc is wont to say, "you don't really need to spend that money!?"

I'm a grown-up - I don't have a xmas list. If I want something, I buy it myself, that's the beauty of having a job and a salary.

Might I also hazard a guess that you're single? Or at least, not yet in such a long term relationship that your/your partners money has morphed into 'our money'? I reckon most on here earn a decent salary - I'm freelance and do quite well thanks - but with a house/wife/kids/cars/christmas etc, it's not just a case of throwing money at my toys whenever I want.

In response to the OP, I'm hoping for a few cash donations in cards, as I wouldn't trust anyone else to get the right chainset! "Great thanks Mum, can you make sure it's a 6800 series 50/34 172.5mm in grey?!"

I have asked for some Chase marmalade vodka though - it's awesome!

No, because I can't trust anyone else to pick the right size/colour or titanium/carbon enough.

Basically I don't want the other half knowing how much decent gear costs!

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my cycling gear for what I told her it cost.

If mine does...I won't care what she sells it for. I'll be dead.
