An actual lifetime driving ban!

So, we often ask what it takes for a dangerous killer driver to get a lifetime ban.

Here's an example when the rare event occured:
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/24983989.thomas-nibbs-avoids-...

It's a terrible case where an 88 year old driver did an illegal u-turn, collided with another vehicle, and ended up killing his wife who was the passenger in his car. No jail time, but the 88 year old driver will never drive again.

I suspect that if the driver had not collided with another vehicle but with a cyclist, and that cyclist had died, there would not be a lifetime driving ban.

I hope this outcome brings some form of closure for Roseanne’s wider family and my thoughts very much remain with them today

What fiendish gene-bending technology has enabled them to breed police officers with so little insight that they don't realise how 'thoughts and prayers', closure and all the other tripe instantly signals insincerity

Well, there's lifetime bans and there's lifetime bans. Banning an 88 year old don't impress me much.
