Zullo frames coming to the UK - now with extra pics

From the shores of Lake Garda to you, via the fin de siecle...

We've seen and admired Tiziano Zullo's hand-built frames both at Eurobike and the European Handbuilt Bike Exhibition so we're pleased to hear the news that Mosquito bikes are going to bring them into the UK for the first time. Mosquito Bikes owners Roger and Phil visited the Zullo workshop in Castelnuovo del Garde on the shores of Lake Garda and have closed a deal to act as the Zullo retailer for the UK.

Tiziano Zullo was born in 1952 in the North of Italy. He started racing at the age of fourteen and in the early seventies came into contact with the world of frame building through some of the Italian builders. He began building frames, under his own name and for larger brands, and in 1978 he started to export the Zullo brand. By 1985 he was the frame supplier of the Dutch TVM team, a relationship that lasted until 1992. Zullo frames were ridden on the Milan San Remo, the Northern Classics and the Tours De France, Giro díItalia, La Vuelta and World Championships. He experimented with Aluminium and still has a custom Carbon frame but the range is still predominantly steel.

The Zullo range comprises both lugless and lugged steel frames using Columbus and Dedacciai tubing. Stars of the range include the Inqubo, a lightweight Dedacciai 16.5 tubed lugless race frame, the Vergine, Columbus XCR stainless steel race and sportive frame and the Pista 85 lugged track frame. There's also the Metro, a twin top tube singlespeed urban offering, and a TVM 1991 replica frame complete with that 1990s paintjob that can only be described as, well, extraordinary.

All framesets are handbuilt to either custom or stock sizing (no extra for custom). For futher info head over to www.mosquito-bikes.co.uk or check out Zullo's own website at www.zullo-bike.com

Shame that I associate the TVM team with the worst excesses of drug taking in cycling

assuming the frames themselves weren't made out of drugs, you can't really blame zullo for that. but i know what you mean.

Lovely frames. Shame that I associate the TVM team with the worst excesses of drug taking in cycling.
