Be part of our ladies road.cc/Cycle Surgery revolve24 team at Brands Hatch

We'd love our female readers to join us as part of team road.cc/Cycle Surgery at revolve24...

Last year team road.cc took on Revolve24 at Brands Hatch, a 24hr relay race around the Kent motorsport track and what a weekend it was. A combination of two road.cc staffers and four members who'd never before met spent slightly longer than is usually comfortable in a concrete garage staring at Pit Lane.

It may not sound glamorous, even if the three bar electric fire did take the edge off, but we had a lot of fun with just a little bit of a competitive edge and have remained firm cycling buddies ever since.

Sound fun? Well if it does read on and get your name down.

Women's cycling is growing at a phenomenal rate and Cycle Surgery are looking to celebrate this by taking on Revolve24 with a team of six riders.

Don't think they are only looking for those hardcore racers mind, this is more about the experience than purely winning and while we all get a little competitive with a number on our back the whole point of the weekend is to have a massive amount of two wheeled fun whatever your level of riding.

This is a proper team too mind, not just a group of you chucked together at the last minute. You'll get to know each other over the next couple of months, admittedly probably over t'internet waves as you could well be spread all over the nation but still, the plan is to share the training, the highs and the lows along the way.

If you're social media friendly that'd be a big plus (but not a deal breaker) as we'd like to track the whole build up and event through the channels of Twitter and Facebook - you'll have your own team name and everything.

It doesn't end there, oh no.

You'll also be getting the chance to try out some brand new kit over the weekend, lights, nutrition, all sorts of things to make the whole event even more pleasurable.

To enter all you need to do is email us at teamroadcc [at] gmail.com and we'll put your name into the electronic hat. The deadline will be next Friday, 15th July so don't hang about.

What is revolve24?

Basically over the weekend of the 10/11 September cyclists take over the undulating race circuit that is Brands Hatch.

The main event kicks off on the Saturday afternoon and runs through the next 24hrs with the aim if completing as many laps as possible in 24 hours.

As a rider of last years first ever event I'll happily say it is one of the most awesome events you'll ever do.

Exiting your garage onto pit lane before accelerating out onto the circuit is truly awe inspiring. The first bend drops you into a descent where you'll be nudging upwards of 40mph all without the worry of passing or oncoming traffic.

Up and down you go as you flow through the bends around the back of the circuit before the speed really picks up as you pass the pit wall and with fifty plus teams involved there are plenty of people screaming at you as you complete each lap - it's an awesome way to spend a weekend.

After first throwing his leg over a race bike back in 2000, Stu's ridden more than 170,000 miles on road, time-trial, track, and gravel bikes, and while he's put his racing days behind him, he still likes to smash the pedals rather than take things easy. With a background in design and engineering, he has an obsession with how things are developed and manufactured, has a borderline fetish for handbuilt metal frames and finds a rim braked road bike very aesthetically pleasing!
