A double-header report, and a short one, because time has been tight the last two weeks. Partly because I was doing nonsense like this:
You can read all about whether it will Zwift or not here.
Anyway, round 3 was a points race, with enough hilliness in it to make a selection that didn't include me (Ed: not much then). Here's a screen grab of happier times when I was still in the big blob at the front:
Happy times with the other Choppers. Some of them managed to stay there too, with Iwein managing (I think) 9th place. And I chipped in with some points for managing not to collapse in a heap before the end. Overall we were 6th out of 10. In the Bs it was another excellent run out for Joseph White, who went long up the final climb but was pippes on the line to claim a second after his win the previous week. Adam Reynolds was this week's rider who had to climb off after going too hard. I know how it feels...
Round 4 was back to the TTT and the Greater London 8 which includes the climb up Box Hill near the end. After solid work around the flat bit we hit the climb still with six riders, but we were reduced to five quite quickly after Scott Thompson fell away, and then we also lost Richard Vollands over the top and on the descent to finish with four. And all our efforts were good for... well, last place on the day. But only just, and I felt a good deal better than the last TTT, so maybe things are starting to improve. Overall now we're ninth so I think a league win is probably out of reach. The Ballers scored a very creditable fourth and they remain mid-table in sixth place.
Next week is points again: LOTS of climbing so I'll be out the back early on, but not before two sprints that I'll try and get into the mix for.
