Camping for "Le Big Event"
The world's greatest cycle race - the Tour de France will start in Yorkshire on 5 and 6 July 2014. Le Grand Depart will bring millions of fans to the Yorkshire roadside to cheer on the champions of the sport.
Here at Sue Ryder we've teamed up with Yorkshire's generous landowners to offer camping at the best sites near the route of the Tour de France Grand Depart. All our sites are within the stunning landscape around Haworth known as Bronte Country plus one in Addingham which is the only place where the route passes on both Stage 1 and Stage 2. The great thing is that at least half of the money you pay for your pitch will be donated to provide care for Sue Ryder's patients living with cancer and other incurable illnesses in Yorkshire.
We've chosen sites in prime locations with great access to local tourist attractions, facilities and events taking place in honour of the tour. Almost all the roads in this area will be closed on the day of Stage 2 and there will be no public transport in this area, so you need to be close to the action and these sites are!
