More than 100 miles lay in wait for a true Scottish sportive test on the Brewin Dolphin Ochil Hills Sportive. Exploring the gently undulating terrain of Fife, Perth and Kinross, this ride will take you to iconic areas around Glen Eagles, Knockhill and beyond on a day’s riding not to be forgotten.
Departing from the Lochore Meadows Country Park, the course begins to head north in to the Cleish Hills with a quick descent and some excellent views, shortly before arriving in Benarty Hill and Loch Leven. Looping around Loch Leven, the route aims for Milnathort, and in our first course split Short riders head east while Standard and Epic go north for Glen Farg.
After reaching the Bridge of Earn, the route turns west towards Dunning, at which point the Standard riders go back in a south-easterly direction and the Epic riders bear true south to Castlehill Reservoir. It’s then a case of following the course arrows north, through the Gleneagles district and along the River Devon.
After the climb out of Gleneagles, you’ll head east through Auchterarder back to Dunning. From Dunning, a long climb out awaits before heading south to Kinross, after which the course cuts through the Cleish Hills for one final time, tackling the climb to Knockhill on the way back to the ride HQ, where a finisher’s medal and t-shirt wait for you.
As per last years event, you also have the option of signing up to the Velo Club. This option gives you everything the normal entry gives you, and you can still choose to ride any of the three routes available, but gives you a lot of extras. Take a look below to see some of the things the Velo Club ticket gives you.
