First run in 2007 and sold out every year since, the Princes Risborough St. George's Sportive is a cracking early season ride!
Make no mistake, this is challenging course. Check out the route stats and the figures may not look too daunting to the seasoned eye, but don't be fooled. Take another look at that buzzsaw profile. Those climbs just keep on coming! There's no single route defining monster climb here (although a couple of detours off the ridge will stretch you on the way back up), however, the Chilterns don't lie down flat for long, so you'll be climbing and dropping like you're on a mini mountain stage!
It's a stunning area of the countryside though, so the surroundings will help take your mind off the gradients. The Chilterns in Spring a great place to be out on a bike!
The shorter routes will follow much of the same course, so the hilly nature applies to these too, however they will cut out the second descent and climb back up to the main ridge, which will save you some energy. The 80k option works out as a great day ride and a superb introduction to cyclosportive riding!

*cough* cul-de-sacs *cough*!...
No it can't. With lower gears to achieve the same speed you should change more gears and make more pedal strokes. It's just not comfortable. On...
