Rollapaluza returns to Bristol this Saturday

This Saturday sees the first round of Rollapaluza’s National Series take place in Bristol and entry is free, ideal for those who live in the South West and reckon they have what it takes to get to the London final and challenge the nation’s finest, or who just fancy a bit of static cycling fun.

The event, backed by Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council, takes place at the Mud Dock bike shop and bar/café, where on Bonfire Night last year, Rollapaluza held its first ever event outside the capital attracting more than 70 riders prepared to duel it out over the rollers. Participants included pro roadie Simon Richardson of Plowman Craven, track racer Andy Magnier, four cross rider (and Mud Dock mechanic) Duncan Ferris, and singlespeed record holder Matt Carr.

Proceedings kick off in the afternoon with a junior event for under-18s over 135cm in height taking place from 1pm to 4pm. Then, at 7pm, the adults take to the rollers to find the South West's "King of Spin and Queen of Cadence", and the best riders from the National Series will also receive invitations to Rollapaluza’s grand finale in London.

Future rounds in the National Series are scheduled for the South, Wales, North & Midlands, London & the South East and Scotland, and further details of the Bristol event can be found on Rollapaluza’s website.
