It’s that time of year when we start compiling wish-lists of what we’d like Santa to bring us this Christmas and perhaps leave them lying around some prominent spot in the house for our nearest and dearest to accidentally ‘find’.
And if you’re reading this, chances are that some of the items on that list will be cycling related. So it’s timely that our friends at Rouleur have released details of a print sale taking place next week, as well as the launch of its 2009 Photography Annual.
The print sale will take place from Friday 4th December to Saturday 12th December at Princes House, 37 Kingsway, London WC2B 6TB (there's a map here) and will be open from 12pm to 7pm, other than Sunday 6th December when it was closed.
On offer will be a selection of prints by Rouleur’s photographers, as well as copies of the magazine and other Rouleur goodies including the 20089 and 2009 annuals.
The day before the print sale opens, Thursday 3rd December, sees the release of the 2009 Rouleur Photography Annual, showcasing some of the best work by the magazine’s photographers during the year to provide “an intimate, passionate and beautiful portrait of the 2009 cycling season.”
Certainly, if the sample images Rouleur has made available are anything to go by, the Annual will provide some a stunning photographic record of the season, in line with the magazine’s ethos of capturing “the little-noticed moments that lie at the heart of the sport, from the bleakness of riding through a frozen winter landscape in preparation for the hardships of the season to come to the colourful and ever-changing legions who line the roads from Flanders to Lombardy.”
If the contents of the 320-page hardback tome, priced at £35, are anything to go by, it’s likely to vie for a space on the bookshelf of any serious racing fan, with the chapter list reading as follows:
Timm Kölln - Flecha, Sastre and Le Tour
Marthein Smit - Cyclo–Cross
Gerard Brown - Paris–Nice to Le Tour
Olaf Unverzart - Flanders and Mont Ventoux
Daniel Sharp - Giro d'Italia
Camille J McMillan - Flanders reflections
Rein van de Wouw - Arenberg and Le Tour
Taz Darling - Classics, Giro and Le Tour
Geoff Waugh - Graffiti
Ben Ingham - Tifosi
