Anais Thouvenot (source Facebook)Teaching assistant from France dies after collision in Leicester, police seek witnesses
Police have named a cyclist who died earlier this month from injuries sustained in a collision in Leicester as French national, Anaïs Thouvenot.
The 22-year-old from the Lorraine region of north east France worked as a foreign language teaching assistant at Perryfields High School in the Sandwell district of Birmingham.
She died at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 16 November, a week after she was involved in a crash with a black Honda Civic in Leicester.
Leicestershire Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which happened at the junction of Regent Road and Upper King Street at around 5.50pm on Sunday 9 November, to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC 1761 Pete Davies on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

not a chance...it was a accident after all.
My thoughts exactly. Not a fat chance in hell. After all we cant upset drivers and impede their progress.
I am becoming increasingly more hostile when i read crap like this. People getting ran over and the perps are getting a slap on the wrist.
Politicians telling us that deaths and injuries are down. My ass. They are up this year and nothing is being done about it. This is the first time in my life i am actually thinking about getting insurance for my life and bike since the police are not interested in getting involved unless you are maimed at which point there will be no witnesses other than camera footage. I really am getting angry at the British drivers who only care about themselves.

I assume the fatality means that the junction of Regent Road and Upper King Street will be reviewed to see what measures can be put in place to prevent a recurrence of this tragedy.
