Video: MTB star Martin Söderström charts his Ride to Recovery

First of two-parter from Red Bull looks at Swede's 2013 horror crash and aftermath...

Sweden’s Martin Söderström is one of the best mountain bike handlers out there – his dirt and slopestyle skills have resulted in him being sponsored by, among others, Specialized and Red Bull. But his career almost ended prematurely following a horrific crash in 2013 that is the subject of a two part film from the Austria-based energy drink brand.

The first instalment, shown below, details the crash that took place on the final jump of what he described as “the ride of my life” at the Crankworx’ Red Bull Joyride. It also details the start of Soderstrom’s rehabilitation as he fights to get back on his bike, with the help of Darren Roberts of the Spire Clinic in Manchester.

Part 2 follows next week.
