It’s Paris-Roubaix on Sunday, and for the first time in a long while it promises to be a wet one, something that will add to the thrills and spills of what is always a dramatic race.
One of the most eagerly anticipated events on the calendar, teams and riders have been out recceing the pavé and looking forward to the race.
Here’s our round-up of some of the videos that have been shared on social media – we’ll be adding more in the next couple of days.
South Wales-based Media Motos have been out with Team Sky and posted a video to their Facebook page that clearly shows the battering the riders’ bodies get from all those cobbles.
This video shows the impact of the cobbles on the riders whole body. Riders will endure 27 sectors of cobbles over 257.5km of racing. Team Sky recce #parisroubaix

Team Sky head of nutrition Dr James Morton speaks here about the specific dietary demands of the cobbled Classics.
No-one has won the race more often than Tom Boonen, his solo triumph in 2012 putting him level with 1970s star Roger De Vlaeminck on four victories. Here, team mates and management from Etixx-Quick Step, plus some other big names, talk about what makes him so special.
One of Boonen’s team mates, Tony Martin, is tipped by some to be a future Paris-Roubaix winner – and in his win on Stage 4 of the Tour de France showed he’s got what it takes to triumph over these very same cobbles. Here he is talking about his new focus on the northern Classics.
Here’s the official promo for this year’s race, plus a look back to the closing moments 12 months ago – John Degenkolb won’t be defending his title of course as he continues his recovery from January’s crash when a driver ploughed into him and several Giant-Alpecin team mates while they were on a training ride in Spain.
Giant-Alpecin, Dimension Data (with a short and arty treatment) and AG2R La Mondiale are among the teams to have posted recce videos on YouTube.
The bookies expect the podium to be the same as at the Tour of Flanders, with Fabian Cancellara and Peter Sagan fighting it out for top spot and Sep Vanmarcke, talking here about Sunday's race, third.
As you probably know, Eurosport have had Belgian legend Kenny Van Vlaminck giving his unique insights into the Classics this year – here he is talking with Carlton Kirby about the specifics of riding over the cobbles ahead of the Tour of Flanders, followed by his take on Paris-Roubaix and how crackers caused a very premature end to his only participation.
Finally, if there’s one Paris-Roubaix video you should watch, it’s probably this one – the 1976 film, A Sunday In Hell.

Got the day booked off work and will have the TV tuned into Eurosport from 09:15.
Would be interesting to see some onboard footage from the bikes. What time is the train?
