It’s happened to many of us. You meet someone, however briefly, then realise afterwards that it’s someone you’d have wanted to get to know better – only you didn’t ask them for contact details, or out on a date.
Well, in this online age, where people are hooked up to social media or word can quickly be spread via social media, all may not be lost for those finding themselves in such a forlorn situation.
That’s what one London cyclist, who describes herself as a “girl with a single speed black bicycle” is hoping as she tries to track down a man she met in the Greenwich Foot Tunnel – where cycling is banned, although you can wheel a bike through – under the Thames on Sunday evening.
Clearly a conversation took place, since she says he man, who rides a fixed-gear bike, comes from South Africa and works for a charity in London.
“I just can’t get over the fact that I didn’t ask him for his number,” she laments on a printed message she’s put up in the tunnel.
“If you know anyone who fits the description, or if it’s you, let’s grab a coffee and go for a ride.”
She signs the message off, “Full of hope,” with an email address for him to contact her on.
Here’s the message in full, as snapped by Evo Lucas who posted it to Facebook.
If her appeal does prove successful, here's hoping she'll put another notice up to let everyone know.

But they'll look sweet, upon the seat, of a bicycle built for two
Or one that is adapted and compliant with the RTO 1995 Art 35
An open goal, I would say.
How very sweet. I hope they are re-united.
Meanwhile, if any women in the Wirral are are looking for a cycling man, I might just be the one for you.
He's fixed gear. She's single speed. It'll never work.
Ah but love is blind!
