Enter road.cc's Treasure Hunt at the Big Bike Bash this weekend

road.cc will be at the Big Bike Bash this weekend, come and say hi.

This coming Bank Holiday weekend sees the New Forest host the Big Bike Bash with loads of cycling events for all ages and tastes so it sounds the perfect place for team road.cc to spend a couple of days. We've got a stand where you can come and chat to us about the website and our club membership, more importantly though we're running a Treasure Hunt within the grounds of the Avon Tyrell Outdoor Activity Centre in Bransgore.

It's open to all Big Bike Bash ticket holders and the free registration opens at noon on Saturday from the road.cc stand (we'll be next door to British Cycling) where you can pick up your map and instructions. The actual treasure hunt takes place on the Sunday (you can enter throughout the day on Sunday too) and involves finding various clocks around the venue and taking 'selfies' for a chance to win one of five road.cc hampers full of cycling related goodies.

The five categories are -

  • Fastest team
  • Fastest solo
  • Fastest family
  • Slowest entry
  • Best photo posted to social media

Every family that enters also goes into a prize draw to win free entry for next years event worth £150!!

We'll see you at the weekend, well, if you've already got tickets as unfortunately the event has completely sold out.

Since writing his first bike review for road.cc back in early 2009 senior product reviewer Stu has tested more than a thousand pieces of kit, and hundreds of bikes.

With an HND in mechanical engineering and previous roles as a CNC programmer/machinist, draughtsman and development engineer (working in new product design) Stu understands what it takes to bring a product to market. A mix of that knowledge combined with his love of road and gravel cycling puts him in the ideal position to put the latest kit through its paces.

He first made the switch to road cycling in 1999, primarily for fitness, but it didn’t take long for his competitive side to take over which led to around ten years as a time triallist and some pretty decent results. These days though riding is more about escapism, keeping the weight off and just enjoying the fact that he gets to ride the latest technology as part of his day job.

Not really -  Just a load of jumped up journo's looking for some "click-bait"

Avon Tyrell is great - but not for anything road related. I love taking my MTB over there and having a blast around the single tracks and a rip on the North Shore/Pump Track, a great facility to have hidden away in the middle of the Forest!

The big bike bash, at least in previous years (and again by the look of this years agenda), has not exactly catered for road cyclists in any way or form... Certainly a great family event if people would like to keep their kids busy, whilst still getting their 2-wheeled fill!

I'll pop over f I have the chance as I only live a few miles away... see you there, maybe!

Indeed. One can only wonder at the sort of bashing they would like to give bikes in the New Forest.
