With just five weeks to go until our Bike LIVE Demo Day arrives at Dalby Forest we thought we'd give you a short run down on the roads and tracks available for you test all manner of bikes on.
As you can see from the layout above everything is positioned around our central Event Village, the hub for the day if you like housing all of the brands that are bringing bikes to demo, about eighty models (the list is here) in fact so far with more being added to the on a regular basis.
With this being an all day event we'll also be laying on some of the best food and drink vendors from the area so there'll be no excuse for letting your energy levels drop with all of those test miles in your legs.
As part of the package you will also get free parking at the event, the normal £8 fee being waived for Bike LIVE
Road
For the roadies we have not one but two different short routes of an out and back nature on the quiet roads of the forest. The first offers a mainly flat ride to let you really give your chosen bike a good thrashing or you can take to route two which has a bit of a hill in it where you gauge a bike's climbing prowess before testing its handling on the way back to the start.
Both routes start and finish at the same place so you can always ride it as one long loop for plenty of variation.
Mountain Biking
With our new mountain bike website off-road.cc launching soon we've a huge range of mountain bikes in various guises being brought to Dalby from some of the biggest manufacturers on the planet.
Just like our Cannock Chase event last month we'll be using one of the mountain bike trails already setup and marked out by the Dalby Forest team. There'll be some singletrack, drops and the odd jump thrown in for good measure on this existing World Cup demo loop. It's fairly challenging but fun and varied for you to get the best out of the demo bikes.
Full signage will be in place to keep you heading in the right direction and being a full loop you can whack in as many laps as you like.
Gravel
Plenty of the team here at road.cc like to dabble in a bit of gravel riding, that blurring of the line between road and mountain biking, so we've also included a gravel loop for you to play on.
Cannock Chase saw us set up a hard packed route stoney route around the forest and we've got exactly the same here at Dalby. Running on mostly fire roads the surface will be made up of various types of gravel so you can really get a feel for how the gravel and cyclocross bikes feel on the differing terrain.
e-bikes
Our friends at ebiketips will be at Bike LIVE too, and there will be a range of electric road bikes, leisure bikes and mountain bikes to try out. Depending on the type of bike you’re riding, you can choose the most suitable loop.
