Shutt VR launch new winter range

UK clothing manufacturers Shutt VR – Shutt Velo Rapide for long – are massively increasing the size of their range by launching 20 new products for the winter season.

The range includes a new waterproof Softshell jacket that, Shutt tell us, will keep you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot. The Softshell, which is cut slim and made from a high-tech fabric from Switzerland’s Eschler, comes with a waterproof front zip, a very high collar to keep the cold winter air off your neck, and plenty of reflective trim. It’ll be available from mid-November at £149.99.

There’s a new stretchy Race Cape in the lineup for 2011 too, and it’s transparent so you can still show off the jersey you’ve got it underneath. Shutt reckon the Race Cape is waterproof, windproof and breathable while a hem gripper helps hold it in place. It’s £59.

Shutt have updated their softshell Race Lite Gilet, giving it hidden rear zips so you can get at your jersey pockets easily. The back is three-quarters mesh for breathability back there and you get reflective beading too. It’s available in white, blue and red colour options and, like the Race Cape, comes in at £59.

The autumn-friendly Coolmax Knicks (£89) feature a new top-end 3D pad from TMF that Shutt are excited about. It’s a Pro-Gel antibacterial chamois that they reckon is as good as anything else out there – we’ve not tried it yet. The Knicks themselves are a 10-panel construction using flat seams throughout to minimise the chance of chafing, and a mesh upper.

Shutt have added bibless shorts to the range as well. They come with a much more basic-looking seatpad, and are priced at a reasonable-sounding £24.99.

The Sportwool jersey line for which Shutt are best know (Sportwool is a mixture of merino wool and poyester) has been updated with several new features including a new four rear pocket design – as well as the usual three, you get an extra hidden valuables pocket back there. The Signature Training Top (£89) looks particularly stylish, and it comes with a zip garages to stop any rubbing on your neck.
