Vincenzo Nibali has signed a two-year contract with Trek-Segafredo, with his brother Antonio also making the widely-expected move from Bahrain-Merida.

A council insists that it is not stopping cyclists from using a cycling café in Berkshire – despite having obtained an injunction that in effect does exactly that.

4. Council tweets letter explaining Velolife ban – and even its own leader comes out in support of café

The council that has banned cyclists from meeting at the Velolife café near Henley-on-Thames has posted to Twitter a copy of a letter attempting to justify its actions, provoking an outpouring of support for the business by users of the social network – including its own leader.

5. Work starts on UK's first truly Dutch-style roundabout next month

Work to construct what is set to be the UK’s first truly “Dutch-style” roundabout is due to start next month in Cambridge. The roundabout will be located at the junction of Queen Edith’s Way and Fendon Road close to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in the south of the city.

6. "Don't buy into the anti-cycling thing" - James May tells drivers to stop worrying about cyclists

A rousing pro-cycling speech, from an unlikely source... James May, who presented Top Gear alongside the not-so-pro-cycling Jeremy Clarkson between 2003-2015 and now co-presents The Grand Tour, has called on drivers to "live in peace" with fellow road users, and not to "buy into the anti-cycling thing".

7. Ghost bike for sale on Facebook Marketplace?

A man from the Wirral has put what appears to be a ghost bike up for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The post was spotted by road.cc reader Josh Owen Morris, who shared a screengrab of it on Twitter with the consensus of the replies being that it did indeed seem to be a ghost bike.

8. Updated: Lotto-Soudal's Bjorg Lambrecht dies after Tour de Pologne crash

Lotto-Soudal rider Bjorg Lambrecht tragically died following a crash during Monday's opening stage of the Tour de Pologne. The 22-year-old was taken to hospital following the crash, which happened with around with around 85 kilometres remaining of today's stage from Chorzow to Zabrze.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
