If you’ve spent any time on the Rapha website over the last few years, you’ll probably have seen the North London-based clothing brand’s Rapha Continental project, a series of rides in North America undertaken by cyclists seeking out great riding, typically on quiet, often forgotten roads.
Now, a film – The Rapha Continental Movie – has been released following the ‘non-team’ of riders during 2010, with some epic scenery and great roads on offer as the cyclists head off the beaten track in the quest to push themselves and their bikes to the limit.
This being Rapha, the film is of course beautifully shot, and shots of riding are interspersed with thoughts from the riders involved about the camaraderie of the road and what it means to them to take part in the rides.
As Rapha says, “We didn’t create this style of riding. In fact, we’ve been inspired by hundreds of like-minded cyclists we’ve met on roads all across the country. To a man (or woman), they are riders who have a penchant for gravel, who delight in a local’s tale, and who share our appetite to push the boundaries of distance and ability.”
The Rapha Continental series will continue this year, with more information available in a dedicated section on the Rapha website.
