Revolution_graphic_withlogo_2Revolution Track series returns this Saturday
The Revolution Track Series returns to the Manchester Velodrome this Saturday after its Christmas break.
This season's Revolution Team Championship is an endurance event and going in to the weekend's penultimate round UK Youth lead the competition after a dominant performance in the last round by Steven Burke. Burke though has now left Nigel Mansell's outfit to ride for Specialized Sigma Sport and concentrate on his track career with the Team GB squad - that puts the onus on James Lowsley Williams and David MacGowan to hold on to their team's lead.
We'll find out how tough a call that is come Saturday, but the UK Youth chaps face some stiff competition with several six day specialists joining rival teams including Alex Aeschbach, Andreas Muller, Jesper Morkov, Christian Grasmann, Robert Bengsch and former World Champion Morgan Kniesky.
Other team changes will see Luke Rowe making his neo-pro debut for Team Sky, Russell Downing returns to Revolution after his points win in the first round – this time he will be riding for team howies while Tom Murray joince Canadian Points Champion Jean-Michel Lachance riding for Rouleur.
It's not all endurance events though, the sprint competition promises some seriously exciting action with Revolution's first tandem sprint competition with a GB versus Holland Sprint Omnium in which Craig MacLean and Neil Fachie and Barney Storey and Anthony Kappes will take on Dutch pairs Patrick Bos and Rinne Oost and Yorick Bos and Richard Bonhof in an omnium contest that will include a Flying Lap, Match Sprint and Kilo TT.
