A cycling holiday company based in Yorkshire is offering family-friendly trips with a French flavour to allow cyclists to ride some of the roads that will feature during the Grand Départ in next year’s Tour de France, as well as experiencing one of England’s most historic and scenic regions.

Scoot Cycling Holidays, which is based in York, is offering a variety of trips, ranging from the four day Le Team Tour, aimed at all ages and abilities, A Taste of Le Tour, also four days, and the seven day Le Tour Trail package.

Prices, dates and details of routes and what’s included can be found on the company’s website, and participants on all trips will also receive the company’s own yellow jersey.

Cai Mallett, who owns Scoot Cycling Holidays, told York Press: “The arrival of the Tour de France to Yorkshire is great for the county and a fantastic opportunity for us to enable visitors to experience some of the amazing sites in Yorkshire from the saddle of a bike.”

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, added: “I am delighted that tourism businesses in Yorkshire have seized the opportunities that Le Grand Départ offers the county.

“We look forward to welcoming families to experience the wonderful sights associated with the stages of the Tour de France in Yorkshire.”
