Second London date for Olympic champs King, Rowsell & Trott at Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix

Team pursuit gold medallists line up with Wiggle Honda team mate Elinor Barker at Olympic legacy event

Wiggle Honda’s Dani King, Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott, already scheduled to race at the IG London Nocturne on Saturday 8 June, have been confirmed for a second race in the capital this summer, the Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix on Saturday 3 August.

The trio, who won gold at London 2012 in the team pursuit – Trott also won the Omnium – will be joined in the race, which forms part of the weekend long RideLondon Olympic legacy event, by Wiggle Honda team mate Elinor Barker, who joined King and Trott in successfully defending the team pursuit title at Minsk in March.

The race takes part on a flat, 1.3 mile circuit around St James’s Park, starting and finishing on The Mall, the race going past Buckingham Palace, along Birdcage Walk and through Horse Guards Parade. You can download the full-size map here.

“This is a fantastic course,” said Trott, who also acts as Prudential RideLondon ambassador.

“It’s the perfect way to celebrate one year on from the Olympic Games in an amazing weekend of cycling in London and Surrey. I can’t wait to be part of it. Bring it on!”

Besides the women’s race, there will also be a handcycle race as well as a Youths A/B, race and entries for the latter – organisers say preference will be given to riders from London or Surrey – can be made using the standard British Cycling entry form, which should be sent to robk [at] ridelondon.co.uk.

Which Trott are we getting? You're crediting Emma, but quoting Laura, I believe...
