At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

Leg warmers are perfect for this time of year and if you can find a good pair, they are worth investing in. Oneten Roubaix leg warmers are a decent contender.

Oneten are fairly new to the market and they have a decent product range. Their leg warmers offer a simple solution to British spring time.

These particular ones are small/medium. The next size up is large/extra large, so there doesn't seem to be much room for those who are sized in the middle. Small doesn't always fit medium, nor is large always suitable for extra large. They do stretch, but you may feel squeezed into the next size up depending on your build.

The tops have silicone grippers that work well to hold them in place on your thighs. The warmers stayed put during my rides and really didn't need pulled up at all during. The bottom part has a good strong elastic which keeps the warmers in place over your ankle too. Getting them on is somewhat of a battle, but isn't that one of the joys of Spandex?

They are made of 80% polyester and 20% Spandex and feel very well made. The brushed inner is soft on your skin, while the outer feels robust and smooth. The spandex helps with the elasticity, making them good for a range of leg lengths. I am quite short so get an extra few inches of thigh warmed compared to my taller counterparts.

A simple tube of fabric with a single seam make them very comfortable to wear. They have the Oneten logo on the base of the leg offering some reflective visibility. It isn't a huge amount and there could be more reflective detailing.

They make no claims of being waterproof or water resistant but I was caught in a short April shower and have to say, they handled the wet pretty well. However, they are best suited when you know it's going to stay dry. In Scotland we are still getting temperatures of between 5 and 10 degrees and leg warmers are needed. The Oneten warmers performed well in this temperature range, giving me an extra feeling of warmth. As the temperatures climbs, and you warm up, you can always peel them off and stuff them away.

As far as price goes, they're middle of the range. If you want water resistance you may want to look elsewhere. Yet these are great for colder Spring and Autumn days and keep your legs toasty.

Verdict

Good, warm and stretchy; decent leg warmers
