Pashley Cycles celebrates its 90th birthday this year, and England’s longest established bicycle manufacturer has decided to mark the occasion with the release of two new bikes, the Speed 3 SE and Roadfinder SE.
“Pashley is unique; it is one of the last UK bicycle businesses that actually manufacture its own bicycles and offers the most extensive model range of all of the remaining UK makers. We are rightly proud of our products, our factory and our employees,” says Pashley’s General Manager, Steven Bell.
The Speed 3 SE (£990) is intended to celebrate the company’s founding in 1929 by William ‘Rath’ Pashley and fittingly, it is inspired by the path racers that were popular at the time. It has a frame made from Reynolds 531 steel finished with a classic number plate and detailed lugs, and a satin black finish and complemented by chromed and alloy finish components, such as the Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub. To stand out, the frame is fitted with a special edition head badge. The Speed 3 SE is available in three sizes.
If you want something a bit more modern, the Roadfinder SE (£2,490) is for you. It features a frame crafted from Reynolds 725 for the front triangle and Reynolds 921 stainless steel chainstays, with a finish it calls “dusk-silver”. The frame has been equipped with a Shimano Ultegra groupset with matching wheels, a Brooks C13 saddle with carbon rails. The bike is available in four sizes, 50, 53, 56 and 59cm.
“We recognise our heritage, but we are not stuck in the past, we are continually creating new products for the various markets and customers around the world that we serve. We are a forward-looking business, with a great team of people who are working towards our continued success,” adds Steven.

I am not giving professional advice, but I would note that neither design nor copyright provide any protection for a method of manufacture.
