2011 Trek Madone 5.2 H2 (used) vs. 2017 Cannondale Supersix Evo 105 (new)

Newer rider here.  Was looking at upgrade from current Giant OCR 1 and rode leftover Supersix; I was blown away by how the bike took off when pedaled hard, even up hills.  Night and day compared to my OCR. Fast forward and I receive free used 2011 Trek from relative.  Don't feel bad, he still has five other bikes!  Figured it would take off like a rocket also, but not so; much more like my current OCR.  Are the Cannondale and Trek that different, or could it be the Trek just needs a tune up?  I've replaced the brakes and am cleaning up and tuning the drivetrain.  Thanks!

Six years in technology advancments will make considerable differences in compliance, handling and performance.

I've ridden both, and love my supersix evo. I think the cannondale's generally stiffer, but to be honest, the main difference is probably fit.... I found the madone felt a bit more upright
