Rapha Monuments competition kicks off with this weekend's Milan-San Remo

Prizes include cycling holidays, kit and a Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0

To celebrate cycling’s five major one-day races, Rapha is again running its Monuments competition. Guess the winning time for each Monument to be in with a chance of winning a luxury cycling holiday, a Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0, a new Rapha wardrobe and more.

The five Monuments are Milan-San Remo on March 18, the Tour of Flanders on April 2, Paris-Roubaix on April 9, Liege-Bastogne-Liege on April 23 and the Giro di Lombardia on October 7.

Guess the winning time in hours, minutes and seconds and you’ll either win the relevant prize or be entered into a ballot in the event of multiple correct guesses.

All entrants will receive a 20% discount to use on the Rapha site or in one of the brand’s Clubhouses.

The prize for Milan-San Remo is a three-day, five-star cycling holiday with the Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) on the Cote d’Azur. This includes flights, a full set of RCC kit and RCC membership for a year (total value £2,400).

Prizes for the other Monuments are a Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0 bike for the Tour of Flanders; a 10-day Rapha Travel Randonnée (a cycling holiday) for Paris-Roubaix; a £1,000 Rapha voucher for Liege-Bastogne-Liege; and custom-designed Rapha kit for the Giro di Lombardia.

You can enter on the Rapha site.

I've got a pair of the orginal Brevet shorts and cannot fault them. Great fit, great pad, great construction.  At 90kg, the extra padding in the pad does go a long way.  Brevet bibtights are also bloody ace if you're feeling flush.

Thanks for the opinions there guys. I have budget Assos S5 Uno? Dunno, names are mental, but they're the cheapest Assos you can get, but I love them. Had some Rapha Pro Teams but sold them on after a couple wears. Too short in the leg, didn't suit me. New long ones look cool though.

Anyway, took a punt on the new Brevets, need some hardcore comfy pad action for really long stuff. I've noticed that the Assos pad I have atm does start to feel a lot less comfortable after 6 or 7 hours straight. Not terrible or anything, but enough to make me want something a bit thicker.

I think Rapha does a great job promoting its products and cycling in general.  I love their products and don't really care about others (especially haters) opinions.

Anyone have any opinions on their Brevet II shorts? I want some ultra-distance bibs, super-comfy getting lost for days sort of kit. Seems like a toss up between these and the Assos ones (Cento?), but the Rapha's are cheaper at RRP, even cheaper again with this code..

I have some Imperial Works shorts that are essentially the same - and I'd wear them anyday over my Assos shorts - and I have the expensive ones - Campionissimo.   The reason is the fit - they're more comfortable, longer in the leg, the pad is thinner and less obtrusive, and the material is warmer.  The straps are better too - they fall off less.  For some reason Assos seems to have adopted a relatively low front design for their current shorts range; ideal for a pit stop, but tends to mean that the straps are longer and fall off...

The low front end according to the ASSOS guy is cut for the body shape of their target demographic, in fact they were rather unapologetic about who should be wearing their kit.

ASSOS are the best shorts hands down, the best pads in the business.  Certain companies are really good at making a certian product ( like the Castelli Gabba Jersey, Castelli make the best version of that type of kit) and ASSOS make the best shorts, they fit almost every body type.

Yah so naff. Maybe show us some pics of you in your kit so we can see how naff Rapha's photography and models look by your standards?

Rapha marketing ideas are so naff. They do the brand name no good at all.
