Committed sportive riders based in the south could, if they so desired, build the early part of their 2011 season entirely around the programme of events just announced by Wheels in Wheels.
The company says it has listened to feedback from riders in planning its 2011 calendar which offers five UK-based and two international events, entry for all of which is now open.
The calendar is very much geared to the spring and earlier part of the summer with events that include the Forest of Dean and Midland Monster as well as the second edition of Pain on the Plain which next year will feature more gravel road sections.
The increasingly popular Duva International two-day event in Mallorca is fast becoming a firm favourite with riders from the UK say the organisers, and is due to form part of a week-long series of events, details of which will they will be releasing soon.
A new event for 2011 will be the four-day London to Paris ride in June in aid of the Forces charity SSAFA (Soldiers. Sailors, Airmen and Families Association).
All events will offer full route marking, well stocked feed stops, electronic timing, mechanical back up, neutral service motorbike en route, NEG marshals, free food at the finish and challenging courses.
The full 2011 Wheel in Wheels calendar is as follows:
Richardson’s Rumble: April 3, St Ives, Cambs. 100miles/100km
