Ah .... tricky question as each season has its own good points. I do have a penchant for moonlit, still, frosty winter mornings, riding through the lanes in the chill, but perfectly warm of body with all of my layers. Winter is an even better excuse to stop at a cafe during a day ride.
race season
a crisp cold dry winters day for me
winter commutes when only the hardiest cyclist are to be seen enjoying the challenge of snow, ice and the mean north wind...
Spring - it's lighter and warmer, and you get to see nature coming out of hibernation. Spring is the countryside at its most beautiful, and the best way to see it is out on your bike!
I love spring, after the dark winter, lighter evenings make for great after work riding and summer is just around the corner too!
Like poster 'colw' above, I love a hard commute (32 miles!) through the winter months, there's nothing better than setting off in the dark and being rewarded by a beautiful morning.
My favorite time of year: when on my daily commute the dark winter morning is broken by the rising sun and so announcing the beginning of Spring.
Summer, already watching the tan lines disappear.
Spring - it's the Goldilocks season
Autumn, crisp clear days, cool enough to wear long sleeves generally i'm fitter than at any other time having riden all summer and he roads are normally still 'ok' to ride. Plus the odd shower thrown in for fun.
Spring
Dry, dusty trails. Because they make me feel faster than I am
Summer.
Then winter.
Any season with low wind really.
Spring.
Days getting longer, warmer and brighter.
Summer please
Winter.... Riding in minus degrees makes me feel ALIVE!!!
Autumn - love riding past the trees in their full autumnal colours and the smell of bonfires in the air.
Spring, the promise of a season to come, the return of good legs and many miles to ride.
Summer... until I win these goodies, then it'll be Autumn.
Autumn.
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...
Spring has to be the best for me. That first ride of the year where you feel a little bit of power in a sun sitting slightly higher in the sky makes the toil of the winter more worthwhile.
Spring. Fresh, green and everything renewed!
I like summer, particularly in Taiwan, in the evenings, along the riverside cycle paths, far from the traffic and only the hiss of tyres and the bright lights of other cyclists to accompany you across the city, across rivers, over hills and under bridges.
Summer... the air is less dense and I can really work up a nice sweat
First day you can officially call Spring.
The anticipation of good riding weather for the whole spring & summer.
Can't be beaten.
Spring. A new start (again).
Although summer and autumn are great for biking, warm evenings and great sunsets, nothing beats winter. Wrapped up with a billion layers on, surrounded by snow, praying over icy sections, and the amazing hot coffee stops. Perfect.
For me it's the spring; getting out onto roads that have been snow and ice-bound for weeks and often being the only one on top of the Pennines in the early dawn.
spring time.....time t wake up.
