We have a Vulpine Schwag Grab winner!

Someone's walking off with some top Autumn gear - is it you?...

My word people like the idea of free Vulpine Schwag, over 1200 of you commented in to tell us your favourite cycling season, all bases were covered but early indications are that summer was the winner. And the winner of the Vulpine Harrington Rain Jacket, Cotton Rain Trousers, Long Sleeve Merino Alpine, and Short Sleeve Polo? Well that's…

jimbocrimbo

Who despite what his name might suggest likes cycling in the early autumn best.

Congrats to the winner, who will be getting his fancy clobber soon (well before Chrimbo) and commiserations to the 1,276 of you who lost out. Fret not though we'll have another chance to win some top quality cycling schwag coming your way… Soon.

In the meantime you can console yourself by popping over to  Vulpine to think about what might have been season?

 schwag grab rules apply.

I'll say winter - just because it's actually feasible here

I love summer for it's crazy heat, sudden rainstorms and warm nights.

Winter. Proper weather. Coming home and only feeling your feet after 20 minutes in the shower.

June… long sunny days riding late into the evening, nature's greens still fresh and bright. 16

Spring, the winter is over and the light is back, there's some rain, some sun, not too hot, not too cold: it is the Goldilocks season - just right.

Each and every season brings something different. Autumn offers those crisp dry days when it seems like you can see further than any other day. Winter brings the rewards of self-generated heat whilst whizzing past freezing pedestrians, Spring offers longer days and brings the hope of a long hot summer to come and summer is the best, just shorts and a top and the open road, cycling through the haze.

It's got to be Spring. Roads are clear of grit, not too much summer traffic on the Devon lanes and the days are getting longer.

What's not to like?

Summer. I know I'm a wimp. Doesn't stop me for the rest of the year though!

I do love riding in the summer - clear blue sky, early in the day before it gets too hot - but I have to admit I've enjoyed riding this autumn too - still pretty mild, but some great variations in light and theatrical clouds. (Don't like it windy.)

Summer evenings for me - long rides after work, clocking up your final few K's as the time approaches 10pm, sun low on the horizon...magical.

Summer mostly, so I can get a bit of tan on the arms and legs! I also don't mind spring or autumn when it's wetter, because it makes the single track a bit more challenging.

Riding fixed through fresh snow on a bright morning. Skinny wheels treading where they perhaps shouldn't. Don't lean!

Spring, love the weather just before the summer. Not too hot, still a little freshness in the air

Autumn with its Cacophony of colourful leaves, and the cool breeze to stop me overheating.

I like the summer, after sweating it up on a climb the breeze on the descent is the finest form of bliss!

Winter. When its cold and dry and the sun is not quite up. You can't ride that fast in case of ice, so you get a chance to look around you. See the horses breath, the cows eating frosted grass, the odd robin on a frozen fence. you are wrapped up in all the gear you possess and yet the cold slowly seeps through to your very core. But you are out there, it is the most beautiful time of year, you are alone, its quiet and you are alive. I cannot wait.

Spring - after the long dark winter days it's great to be back in the saddle in lighter nights and warmer weather.

It's winter for me, anything but ice. The worse it is, the more heroic you are for being out at all. You get to wear your kit and man it out, Belgian hardman style. There's no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothes. Winter's where I earn those summer rides in short sleeves and where I build the legs for those sunny days.
