The non windy season

Spring rides can't be beaten
Spring rides, clear blue sky but not too hot.
Winter, when its really cold, you've got to ride hard to generate enough heat!
In Merseyside it has to be Autumn as all the geese and swans arrive to winter in the local meres and grasslands.
This year, it will be Winter which will be more shorter than usual as I've just moved to SW France
Summer... Lots of time on the bike and everyone is HAPPY.
It's got to be Autumn - residual heat of the summer with a slight cooling breeze. Love it.

While individual rides tend to be memorable or special in spring and autumn (that sunrise on the cycle to work or crisp autumn day) the season has to be Summer, ininterupted cycling!

Spring, just warming up, still cool and you have the summer and main season to look forward to just around the corner.
Hot summer evenings.
Early Autumn. Still warm and light in the evenings,
with a lovely freshness in the air.
Has to be summer for me, the joy of heading home from work knowing you can still get a ride in whilst its still light. That said crisp winter mornings have a certain attraction and a real sense of achievement about them...

In the UK I would say summer for the odd chance of an evening ride where with some lights it just carries on.

I did London to Paris in late September. Heading through quiet French backroads with autumn in the air was absolutely fantastic.
But I love full on summer as well!
