Cotswold Outing Audax
The Cotswold Outing should be within the capabilities of most reasonably fit cyclists. The undulating route is divided into three roughly equal stages: the first and third through south Warwickshire, and the middle one skirting the northern fringe of the Cotswolds.
Cotswold Journey Audax
The Cotswold Journey is a moderately stiff challenge. There are three stages of forty to sixty kilometres. The first and third stages cross leafy south Warwickshire, while stage 2 weaves through the picture-postcard limestone villages of the northern Cotswolds
Cotswold Expedition Audax
The Cotswold Expedition is for experienced tourists and sportive riders.Through the greenery of south Warwickshire, exploring the best limestone countryside the Cotswolds has to offer and following the Windrush valley before striking north for home.

Indeed - but it's no more inconsistent than our current road design - very often UK high streets are "for shopping" and also a busy through route....
