Video: Cycle touring in Japan - taking the scenic route to explore Land of the Rising Sun

Juliet Elliot and Dave Noakes head out East with Charge Bikes

Bike videos full of death defying stunts are all well and good, but it’s refreshing to see one that is just about the simple pleasure of riding a bike to explore somewhere new, and that’s exactly what you get in this short film from Charge Bikes that follows Juliet Elliot and Dave Noakes as they tour Japan on holiday.

Riding Charge Plug bikes, the couple mix camping with hotels for their overnight accommodation on their trip, and seem to be loving every minute, Mount Fuji providing a spectacular backdrop at one point, and taking in a track meet in Tokyo too.

Elliot, a former professional snowboarder and model and now sponsored by Charge, Vans and Met, has provided some hints and tips on cycle touring in Japan on her Bikes N’ Stuff blog.

As well as being the founder and editor of Coven Magazine, she also blogs for Brooks, where her latest post recounts how the use of a “lucky cap” led to a Sunday ride across Dartmoor – it will be the last one for a while, since she and Noakes relocated to Italy at the start of this month.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sensing a strong smell of sour grapes in these comments.

I also think there should have been a follow up on the Trek, here is a link to a couple of shots of her riding it looking dead happy instead http://ride-everything.com/2014/10/07/from-hills-to-mountains/ 1

Was it a condition of accepting the prize that she stay in touch with you? What gave you the expectation that the winner need be heard of again?
