Video: Team Sky's Tour Down Under riders explain their roles

From Richie Porte to Ian Stannard, team run through what they aim to do in first WorldTour race of 2015

The 2015 UCI WorldTour season starts tomorrow with the Santos Tour Down Under. Each and every rider participating will have a goal in mind, whether it be winning stages or the overall, supporting their team leaders, or trying to get in the break. Here, Team Sky’s seven riders explain what their various roles are.

Richie Porte goes in as team leader and will be targeting the overall. Geraint Thomas finished third overall in 2013, winning a stage and he sprints jersey that year. Sprinter CJ Sutton is another past stage winner at the race. The line-up is completed by British national champion Peter Kennaugh, Salvatore Puccio, Luke Rowe and Ian Stannard.

Haha, everyone says Richie is a little fella, but this consistent camera shot of different people really shows it - reminds me of this:

I don't know. I just don't think that RP has the aura, the steely dead-eyed look, that the winners have.

Because all the big GC riders go to the Tour down under.....

That's quite an interesting and strong British line-up. If they really can be the sum of their parts I fancy them to do quite well. "RP" has of course won the overall in Paris-Nice so he does sort of pass muster.
