If this is autumn, we're certainly looking forward to winter here at road.cc.
As always the stars aren't to be believed. The astronomical start of the cooling down didn't materialise, and we can safely postpone the first autumn #mycyclingweekend for another week.
Well, some of us can at least.
Here at road.cc we confidently declared that autumn had begun, and we asked you lot how that was going to change your weekend rides.
We got some fairly confused responces. Loads of you expressing either a sense of resolution against the coming cold onslaught, and others of you perplexed at our defeatism in such favourable conditions.
Jenny Ondioline, Jason Burns, Darren Lewis, and the entire Sefton Velo cycling club took to the roads under blue skies, basking in the extension of summer weather. Mr Burns, and the guys and girls from Sefton - not dettered by the claims of weather deterioration - even managed their best weekends of the year - if we're going by kilometers covered and rider turnouts.
Elsewhere however, you weren't all quite so blessed by the elements.
Below you've got James Warrener wading through the mist, Phil Hubbard fumbling through fog, and Instagram user r7yan shivvering on a cold morning in Centre Parcs.
Even Pete Dorrell had to deal with fog over in Dubai, so at least we know nobody's safe.
To answer your question: no, we're not sure whether autumn has actually arrived or not.
But, here at road.cc we're men and women of science, so we're leaning firmly towards following the teachings of thos astrophysicists who claim that on the September 23 the Northern Hemisphere moves into its autumnal cycle.
So, in that spirit, we're fully expecting many more photos of fog, mist, wind, rain and snow over the coming weeks, and fewer photos of fun in the sun.
So, if you come into possession of some great cycling photos, send them our way!
So, just after reminding you that to get involved all you have to do is post a photo to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the #mycyclingweekend hashtag attached, we'll pop an assertion that we're pretty confident is valid now.
This one comes from Wesley on Instagram, who goes by the moniker nevereverpressrewind. He says: "Autumn is upon us."
A cycle bridge between North Grennwich and Canary Wharf would have made so much more sense (along with another Rotherhide to Canary Wharf).
